Dressmaking workshops
As powerful as bikes are, they are not the only vehicle for joy and healing. In March 2013, 88bikes launched our Seamless Possibilities dressmaking program. Seamless Possibilities leads groups of formerly-trafficked girls through a week-long dressmaking curriculum where each girl designs and sews a beautiful dress for herself.
For many of the girls who hope to become seamstresses or launch their own sewing businesses, the workshop provides crucial hands-on skills building and mentoring. For all the girls, Seamless Possibilities provides a healing, uplifting, invigorating opportunity to make something beautiful for themselves—and have a blast in the process!
On the last day of the Seamless Possibilities workshop we conduct a fun photoshoot at Angkor Wat!
Founding director of Seamless Possibilities Kim Ngo of Los Angeles welcomes the girls to the workshop on day-1
Guest Seamless mentor Katherine Andrews of Seattle leads a workshop in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Katherine is a clothing designer, seamstress, pattern maker and principal of Telaio Handbuilt Clothing.
Every week-long Seamless workshop closes with a vibrant soirée full of dancing, sparklers and laughter.
