SEAMLESS POSSIBILITIES
In March 2013 88bikes launched our Seamless Possibilities dressmaking program in Cambodia. Seamless Possibilities leads groups of formerly-trafficked girls through a rigorous, week-long dressmaking curriculum where each girl designs, then sews a beautiful dress for herself, under the mentorship of Kim Ngo, an LA-based costume designer and 88bikes Director of Seamless Possibilities. For many of the girls who hope to become seamstresses or launch their own sewing businesses the workshop provides crucial hands-on skills building and mentoring. But for all the girls, it provides a healing, uplifting, invigorating platform to make something beautiful for themselves-and have a blast in the process! The week culminates with a vibrant soirée where each girl dresses up in her new dress. There's a photo booth, plenty of pizza, LED light strands hanging from the vine-covered trees, and a massive dance party with Cambodian pop music thundering out across the countryside!

What do dresses have to do with bikes? Not much-and everything. We endow bikes because bikes are practical and useful, but most of all because they're fun. We launched Seamless Possibilities to provide another powerful, uplifting vehicle for Joy-Based PhilanthropyTM, which is our core, curated principle of elevating happiness to a human need.
You can donate directly to the Seamless Possibilities program by making a general donation of any amount or, in keeping with 88bikes one-to-one donation model, by donating $350.00, which is the full cost of one girl making one dress in a forthcoming workshop.

Just like with our one-to-one bike program, each donor will be asked to submit a photo of herself, to give to her sponsored girl. We'll take a picture of your sponsored girl holding your pic while modeling her new dress and send the pic back to you in your donor packet. In addition, each donor will also receive a scarf or other authentic, hand-sewn artifact made during the workshop by the recipient (we'll be in touch to see what hand-made item you'd like and let you know what's available based on cultural nuance).
In 2014 we'll launch at least 3 Seamless Possibilities workshops in Cambodia, the Philippines and Bosnia.
